Strength and Endurance
The Concept2 SkiErg ergometer helps you build strength and endurance by engaging the whole body in an efficient, rhythmic movement. Skiing is a gentle way to burn calories and is suitable for all ages and fitness levels. Users can adjust the resistance themselves: pulling harder accelerates the flywheel and increases the resistance.

Measurable results
The SkiErg gives you immediate feedback with every stroke. In addition, all performance data is recorded until the end of the session. The electronic performance monitor calibrates itself automatically. This ensures that your results are always accurate and that every stroke is comparable, at any time interval and in every session. Compare yourself with other skiers using the SkiErg worldwide.

For cross-country skiers: A safe and efficient training machine
The Concept2 SkiErg enables a combined strength-building and endurance workout through the use of the skating technique. The various resistance levels (1–10) allow you to simulate realistic training conditions in all weathers, all without putting strain on your joints thanks to the air resistance.

Comfort and safety
A comfortable workout on a SkiErg is particularly ideal when skiing outdoors is simply not possible. The SkiErg is always available, whatever the weather. It is also safer than training on a trail crowded with other skiers, and it allows you to practise skiing with poles indoors. The SkiErg can be mounted on a wall

Perfect training for patients/therapy
Alternative training without using the legs is possible, either kneeling or sitting. Strengthens the upper body, core, etc. A genuine alternative even for athletes with disabilities.

  • Builds up strength in the upper body, abdominal and back muscles, and legs that is relevant for skiing
  • Offers high-quality aerobic training
  • Promotes the correct and effective skiing technique for cross-country skiing

An ergometer (or ‘erg’) is a machine that measures work output. This is what sets the Concept2 SkiErg apart: you can precisely measure your performance, monitor your progress and compare your performance metrics with others who also use the Concept2 performance monitor. This monitor has proven its worth on rowing machines for many years.

As well as providing an excellent upper-body workout, the SkiErg also works the abdominal and back muscles and legs with every stroke. Why not take a look at the video demonstration? You’ll notice that your legs lift your body weight with every stroke, giving you a thorough full-body workout without the risk of overexertion. A workout on the SkiErg works the legs at least as hard as the upper body. Maximum heart rates are achieved through an aerobically demanding workout.

The Concept2 SkiErg is based on the same mechanics and electronics as the Concept2 Indoor Rower, the world’s most popular choice amongst rowers since 1982.

SkiErg features:

  • Smooth pulling action with fast rope return
  • Double-deck design and classic rowing technique

  • You feel the slight resistance from the dampers with every pull.
  • Available for wall mounting or as a freestanding model.
  • Powder-coated and sealed with clear varnish for added durability
  • Easy to assemble. Tools and an illustrated quick guide are included
  • Colour: black

Features of the PM5 monitor (with Bluetooth Smart and ANT+ transmission technology) – packed with great features and easy to use: Although the PM5 is packed with great features, it is very easy to use. As soon as the wind turbine starts to turn, the monitor switches on immediately. So you don’t need to press a single button – it’s up and running straight away.

If you want to get started straight away, you’ll find it very easy to navigate through the various menus. Whether you want to view saved training sessions or save your favourite workouts, it’s quick and easy with the Performance Monitor. For further information, read the user manual or access the built-in help function (from the main menu, select ‘Information’).

Data and displays: The PM5 displays your performance during each training session in metres, 500m average, watts or calories. Whilst rowing, you can choose between five display modes: metres/time, power curve, PaceBoat (comparison boat), bar chart or large text. The backlit display ensures improved readability. It switches on when the monitor starts up and remains lit for the duration of your training session.

Wireless heart rate monitoring: The PM5 supports ANT+ and Bluetooth Smart for wireless heart rate monitoring. To use this feature, you’ll need a chest strap that supports one of these transmission technologies. Please note that the PM5 supports Bluetooth Smart but not Bluetooth.

USB stick compatible: The PM5 offers you two options for storing your training data: in the monitor’s internal memory or on a USB stick (supplied). The USB stick stores your training data and preferences in a portable format. With our free Concept2 Utility software, you can upload your training data to your online logbook at concept2.com or transfer data from your USB stick to your Mac or PC. Compatible only with FAT or FAT32 USB formats.

Power supply: The PM5 uses two D-cell batteries. The spinning of the wind turbine supplies the monitor with power whilst you’re rowing, helping to extend the life of the batteries.

Games: For those days when you want to add a bit of extra motivation and variety, there are the PM5 games. These allow you to teach both children and adults how to use the indoor rower in a fun and playful way. The PM5 includes the Fish Game, Darts Game, Target Game and Biathlon.

Racing: Thanks to its accuracy, the PM5 is perfectly suited for racing and competition purposes. With the PM5, you can race against your team-mates or training partners, whether you’re in the same room or on different continents. The PM5 supports wired racing.
