Amino acids

Amino acids

Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins and play an important role in sports nutrition.

Essential amino acids: There are a total of 20 amino acids, nine of which are considered essential. Essential amino acids are those that the body cannot produce itself and must therefore be obtained from food. The essential amino acids include histidine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, threonine, tryptophan and valine.

Importance for muscle building: Amino acids are crucial for muscle building and the repair of muscle tissue. The branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) in particular, which include leucine, isoleucine and valine, are of great importance for muscle protein synthesis. These amino acids support muscle building and can help to prevent muscle breakdown during intensive training sessions.

Supplementing with amino acids: In some cases, sportspeople and athletes can take amino acids as dietary supplements to provide the body with additional amino acids. Amino acid supplements can be available in the form of tablets, capsules or powders. Popular supplements include BCAA supplements, which contain branched-chain amino acids in particular.

Time of intake: The timing of the intake of amino acids can play a role. Taking them before or during training can help to stimulate muscle protein synthesis during training and prevent muscle breakdown. Taking them after training can contribute to muscle regeneration and repair.

Natural sources: Amino acids are found in a variety of foods. Protein-rich foods such as meat, fish, chicken, eggs, dairy products, pulses, nuts and seeds contain a variety of amino acids. A balanced diet that includes a variety of protein sources can help provide the body with the amino acids it needs.

It is important to note that a balanced diet with a variety of macronutrients and micronutrients is always preferable. The use of supplements should be carefully considered and discussed with a nutritionist or doctor to ensure that individual needs and goals are met.

Sponser BCAA 350 capsules
Sponser BCAA capsules with the 3 branched-chain amino acids valine, leucine and isoleucine in free form for muscle building and delaying fatigue during endurance performances. Protein supports the growth and maintenance of muscle mass. Compared to intact proteins, branched-chain amino acids are available more quickly.

Sponser Liquid Energy BCAA 18 x 70g tube
SPONSER - LIQUID ENERGY BCAA is a highly concentrated energy gel. One tube provides 193kcal, 48g carbohydrates. Liquid Energy is suitable for endurance sports where a continuous supply of energy is important. It is also suitable for power sports or games where energy supply is crucial. A combination of different types of sugar provides quick and long-lasting energy.
Dymatize BCAA 2200 400 capsules
After strength training, the metabolism runs at full speed and the build-up of muscle protein is stimulated. Amino acids are the building blocks of these proteins. Branched chain amino acids (BCAAs) are among the 9 essential amino acids that cannot be produced by the human body itself - therefore the requirement must be met through food intake. The BCAAs L-leucine, L-isoleucine and L-valine are three branched-chain amino acids and make up around 20-35% of human muscle protein.
Sponser Power Pro Red Beet Vinitrox 4 x 60ml
The beetroot shot corresponds to the nitrate content of 500 ml of beetroot juice. VinitroxTM, Whey Pepto CFMTM, L-Arginine and L-Ornithine also promote NO production. FruitflowTM helps maintain normal platelet aggregation, which contributes to healthy blood flow. Strength athletes confirm that NO products provide the so-called pump.
Sponser Pro Beta Alanine 140 Tablets
Beta Alanine from SPONSER is an intracellular acid buffer for competitive and strength athletes. It is suitable for high-intensity, repetitive exercise where muscle acidosis limits performance. The amino acid supplement increases the muscle's own carnosine content, which increases the intracellular acid buffer capacity and can therefore increase performance in anaerobic-lactacid sports.
Weider BCAA Drink 24 x 250ml
The new Weider BCAA Drink is the perfect thirst quencher with an extra portion of BCAAs (L-leucine, L-isoleucine, L-valine). The ready-to-drink product also contains the amino acid compound L-alanyl-L-glutamine (Sustamine&®:). The Weider BCAA Drink contains niacin, pantothenic acid and vitamin B6.
