1936 – The birth of Weider
Joe Weider founded Weider Nutrition, laying the foundation for the world's first sports supplement brand that would shape a fitness movement.
1946 – Founding of the IFBB
Joe and Ben Weider founded the International Federation of BodyBuilding & Fitness (IFBB), which still plays a central role in bodybuilding today.
1965 – Launch of Mr. Olympia
Joe Weider initiates the Mr. Olympia competition, which quickly becomes the most prestigious bodybuilding event in the world.
1970 – International expansion
Weider expanded into Japan (from 1970), founded Weider SL in Madrid in 1986 for the European market, and achieved an Asian presence with the expansion into Taiwan in 2000.
2003 – Founding of Weider Germany GmbH
In Germany, Weider Germany GmbH was founded to carry Joe Weider's idea forward in Europe and establish the brand in the German-speaking market.
2006 – Lifetime Achievement in Venice Beach Hall of Fame
On Labor Day, Arnold Schwarzenegger honors Joe Weider with the Lifetime Achievement Award – in recognition of his profound impact on sports.
2014 – Inducted into the International Sports Hall of Fame
Joe, Ben and Betty Weider are inducted into the International Sports Hall of Fame – a posthumous tribute to their life's work and commitment to fitness and bodybuilding.
2024 – Launch of own website
In 2024, Weider will launch its first independent online platform with optimized logistics – for the best product quality and value for money.
