Application:

The main goal of kettlebell training is to build functional strength, explosive power, and stability, as well as to strengthen the cardiovascular system and tendons and ligaments.

The exercises are particularly effective in building core strength in the lower back and hip area. For these reasons, kettlebells are especially popular among strength and combat athletes who rely heavily on functional strength, explosive power, and strength endurance.

The benefits mentioned are not only an increase in functional strength but also achieving high all-around fitness, endurance, flexibility, coordination, and body control. Especially in the USA, kettlebell training is also advertised with the promise of rapid fat loss.

Typical kettlebell exercises include:

• The swing of the kettlebell between the legs, both single- and double-armed,
• the snatch,
• the clean,
• and the jerk.

With a kettlebell, you train simultaneously:

• Strength endurance
• Cardiovascular endurance
• Mobility
• Speed
• Coordination

Note:
Kettlebell training is not without risk. Especially during dynamic exercises, extremely high forces occur due to the use of centrifugal force (kettlebell swing). The risk of injury is high. Correct breathing and proper learning of the training technique are prerequisites.
