The 1:2 ratio is ideal for heavy, controlled movements that build muscle and strength, such as chest presses or lat pulldowns.
  • Weight stack with 180kg: Ratio 1:4 when using one handle - 45kg effective resistance with additional weight 45kg) - if only one side of the Functional Trainer is used, the maximum effective resistance for the trainee is 45kg. Unilateral training additionally activates integrated deflection pulleys, creating a unique 1:4 ratio. This allows users to perform explosive, athletic movements without the weight stack "jumping" due to cable slack. Furthermore, the cable extends much further, which is ideal for walking lunges and other movements requiring a greater distance.
