Heart rate monitor

A heart rate monitor is a device used to measure a person's pulse or heart rate.

Finger Pulse Oximeters: These portable devices are placed over the finger and measure both pulse and blood oxygen levels. They use infrared light and photodetectors to detect blood circulation and oxygen saturation.

Chest Strap Heart Rate Monitors: This type of heart rate monitor consists of an elastic strap worn around the chest and a transmitter connected to the strap. The transmitter detects the heart rate and wirelessly sends it to a receiving device such as a sports watch or smartphone.

Wrist-worn Heart Rate Monitors: These devices are worn on the wrist and use optical sensors to measure the pulse. They are integrated into fitness trackers, smartwatches, or dedicated heart rate monitors.

Ear-worn Heart Rate Monitors: Some heart rate monitors are worn on the ear and use optical sensors to detect the pulse. They are often integrated into headphones or earbuds.

Heart rate monitors are useful tools for monitoring heart rate during exercise or in everyday life. They allow users to control their training intensity and ensure they are exercising within their desired heart rate zone. This can help optimize training effectiveness and avoid overexertion or insufficient load. Heart rate monitors are also used by individuals with certain medical conditions to monitor their heart rate and detect any abnormalities.
