The Hedgehock offers a unique seating experience. Its clear cubic shape seems to contradict the idea of sitting at first glance, but as soon as you experience it in practice, you will discover ergonomics in its purest form, because the 49 wooden blocks are individually sprung and gently adapt to your body shape. The backless HedgeHock health stool is a good alternative to conventional seating stools and promotes a healthy posture.

  • Product description

Everyone sits, every day, for hours. But what exactly is sitting? We appreciate ergonomic seat cushions, designed plastic structures, and lounge furniture. Yet, the archaic act of sitting is best honored by a piece of seating furniture that is natural and clear. Structured in this way, with a clear, geometric exterior and an organic, movable interior, the Hedgehock brings harmony between dynamism and stasis. When sitting, ergonomics are achieved through flexibility, allowing one's own body to shape its base.

The perceived soft wood of the HedgeHock supports an upright sitting posture. With conventional back-friendly stools, the sitting posture must adapt to the shape of the stool. With the HedgeHock, however, the seat base yields depending on body size and weight. The precise construction of natural wood in the HedgeHock promotes a healthy and relaxed sitting posture. Both the precisely measured cubic form (45x45x45) of the HedgeHock and the gentle suspension of the wooden blocks support an upright and active sitting position.
When sitting, you move dynamically on the springy wooden blocks, forming a new base with each change in movement. Since the HedgeHock stool has no backrest, you tend to adopt an upright and straight back posture. This makes the HedgeHock a particularly good alternative for improving overall back posture in everyday life.

Another feature makes the HedgeHock by NOHrD unique: It is handmade in the NOHrD sports equipment manufactory, optionally available in four types of wood: ash, oak, cherry, and walnut. There is also the Club version made of dark stained ash wood.
